Burrowing into the depths of Indian history and vibrant cultures, the artisans weave stories with the art form, while retaining the modern touch,  which attracts the fancy of every woman – from a college goer to connoisseurs of Indian ethnic fashion, who fall for the Madhubani, Kalamkari motifs, for instance.

The intricate art of hand painting in more of such forms like Pattachitra and Mandana which had earlier become stereotypically associated with wall paintings are swiftly making their way to the present fashion realm of India. Besides, from merely hand painting in rural communities till a decade or two earlier, these artisans have fetched strong recognition in the Indian fashion circuit, what with ethnic bags, coin purses, bangles, necklaces and anklets adorned with hand painted motifs of flowers, paisleys, animals, and figures of gods and goddesses

Today, Indian artists are painting colorful tales on Sarees, Dupattas, Kurtis and Jewelry. How hand painted art has grown from wall hangings to our cabinet of pretty little things, is giving every girl a break to relive her memories of childhood drawings in the form of terracotta earrings, hand painted juttis and vibrantly  painted ethnic handbags.
